Professor Emeritus KAWATA Satoshi selected for the Order of Culture

Professor Emeritus KAWATA Satoshi at Osaka University was selected for the Order of Culture for AY2024. This award is given to those who made great contributions to the development of culture.

After completing the doctoral course at Osaka University's School of Engineering in 1979, Dr. Kawata obtained a doctoral degree in engineering. After serving as Professor at the School of Engineering, he received the title of Professor Emeritus in 2017. He was involved in research and education for many years, making outstanding accomplishments in optics and spectroscopy, especially in the field of nano-optics.

Seeing his contributions to science recognized has given all OU community members dreams and aspirations. We wish him continued success.
