Comment from Lacrosse Captain KAGAWA Keijiro (4th year, School of Engineering)

“Last year we placed 2nd, so our midseason goal this year was to win the Seven Universities Meet. We defeated strong teams that would advance to the national tournament, which gave us confidence. But, our ultimate goal is to with the championship in the league competition in the Kansai region and play in the national championships. We’re a bit nervous since we’ll have to play in the Division I this year, but we will do our best with confidence, so please cheer us on!”

Men’s Lacrosse Results

Day 1: vs. Nagoya University (3-1)
   vs. Kyushu University (0-2)

Day 2: Semifinal vs. The University of Tokyo (2-1)
    Final vs. Kyoto University (4-2)

Women’s Track and Field

The Women’s Track and Field team won the competition held on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Toyohashi Track and Field Stadium.

Comment from Track and Field Captain UMEDA Kotaro (4th year, School of Economics)

"Our women’s team was able to meet its goal of all-around winning the Seven Universities Meet for the second year in a row. They performed quite well overall across the events, achieving an all-around victory. Before the relay race, the last event of a track-and-field sports, the difference between the OU team and the Kyoto University team was 1 point, thus, the winning team of the race would earn the all-around victory. Our team shrugged off the pressure and demonstrated their strength. We’d like to thank our alumni for their support as well as those who assisted our team while the field was undergoing renovation."

Fierce competition will continue to mid-September. Cheers to our teams!
