Megaquake alert from the government ends

A weeklong government call for increased preparedness for a possible megaquake in the region along the Nankai Trough ended at 5 p.m. on August 15, 2024.

However, a megaquake can occur at any time.

We urge OU students, faculty, and staff members to remain diligent in their earthquake preparedness so that they can take appropriate action immediately in the event of an earthquake.
