Osaka University ranks 3rd in Japan and 69th in the world in the Nature Index 2024 Researcher Leaders

Osaka University ranked 69th in the world, a jump from last year’s 78th place ranking, in the Nature Index 2024 Research Leaders, announced on June 18, 2024. Similar to last year, the university ranked 3rd among Japanese universities.

Nature Index Research Leaders value research quality, ranking universities based on the number of articles published in major scientific journals.

By subject, Osaka University received high praise in chemistry, ranking 47th in the world, as well as natural sciences and biological sciences, in which the university ranked in the top 70 universities worldwide.

These rankings are a proof to the outstanding research quality of the university.
