Presentation session held for the 2023-2024 Independent Research Project for Undergraduate Students

Osaka University held a presentation session for the 2023-2024 Independent Research Project for Undergraduate Students in the Assembly Hall at Osaka University Hall on Thursday, May 2.

This project was started in the 2015-2016 academic year in order to raise students' awareness of "independent learning" and cultivate their ability to see the true nature of things so that they can be active on the world stage.

In this project, the university supports undergraduate students’ creative and ambitious independent research (research in which students do not acquire credits required for graduation) by offering independent research funding and faculty advisors to guide students in their research activity.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, 54 research projects were selected in 13 categories across all 11 undergraduate schools on a wide variety of topics that extended beyond their own departments and schools. Students in these projects performed independent research activity over the course of nearly 6 months.

11 groups selected from this project gave introductions to their research at this session.
