Professor Inomata receives Cybersecurity Encouragement Prize of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), regardless of whether it is self-promotion or someone else's recommendation, has recognized individuals and organizations (teams) that have demonstrated outstanding cybersecurity achievements and are expected to play an active role in the future with the award of Cybersecurity Encouragement Prizes since 2017.

Professor INOMATA Atsuo was enthusiastically involved in the development of security professionals, while engaging in education and research in the fields of information communications and information security as an OU professor and serving as a member of the committee of human resource development projects: CYber Defense Exercise with Recurrence (CYDE) and SecHack365 (a one-year security hackathon) by the National Institute of Information And Communications Technology (NICT). These efforts were recognized as the MIC’s Cybersecurity Encouragement Prize.

He also contributed to enhancing cybersecurity literacy in many areas by involving in educational activities regarding security measures for telework and using wireless networks.

The award ceremony was held on April 15, 2024, at MIC, where Professor Inomata was presented with the prize by State Minister WATANABE Koichi.
