KIRITANI Shigeki, former President and CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd., joins Osaka University as Management Consultant

Osaka University is pleased to announce that KIRITANI Shigeki, former Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd., joined Osaka University as Management Consultant on April 1, 2024.

In order to become a university to solve local and global challenges through cocreation with society and create a “society where each member feels worth living,” Osaka University formulated the OU Master Plan, the medium- to long-term management plan for the university’s all activities, including education, research, and management.

Osaka University will strengthen its financial foundation to realize the OU Master Plan and further accelerate its education and research activity, while consulting with Mr. Kiritani and his wealth of knowledge and experience.

Professional History of Mr. Kiritani

• 1985 - Graduated Kyoto University Faculty of Law
• 1985 - Joined Daiwa Securities Co., Ltd. (now Daiwa Securities Group Inc.)
• 1990 - Received MBA from Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley
• 1998 - Joined Goldman Sachs Co., Ltd.
• 2000 - Managing Director, Goldman Sachs
• 2009 - Head of Merchant Banking Department, Goldman Sachs
• 2011 - President and CEO, Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd.
• 2022 – Chairman and CEO, Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd.
• 2023 - Left Goldman Sachs Asset Management Co., Ltd.
