Poem by OU student read at the New Year's Poetry Reading held at the Imperial Palace

A waka poem composed by KOIKE Hiromi (3rd year, School of Foreign Studies) was recited at the New Year's Poetry Reading held at the Imperial Palace on January 19, 2024.

The theme for this year's New Year's Poetry Reading was "harmony."

「目を瞑（つむ）り一分間を祈るとき皆が小さき平和像なり」

"When we close our eyes in a moment of prayer
We all become small statues of peace"
