New Nursery Room Completed at Makiba Nursery

Construction has finished on a new building for Makiba Nursery, a nursery for 0~1-year-olds located on the Suita Campus that supports child rearing for Osaka University faculty, staff, and students.

This new south-facing building gets lots of sunlight and is also outfitted with floor heating. Adding another nursery room to the Makiba Nursery has freed up space in the other nursery rooms so that children can play and grow comfortably without any restrictions.

Osaka University aims to create a society in which people can find meaning and purpose in life by enhancing the quality of research and education in an inclusive environment in which diversity is valued and everyone can exert their full potential. As part of these efforts, Osaka University has established on-campus nurseries, Takenoko, Makiba, and Machikane, to provide safe and secure childcare for university members.
