Ceremony for the 30th Anniversary of the Founding of the Division of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine held

The Division of Health Sciences of the Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine held the ceremony for the 30th anniversary of its founding in the MO Hall of the Convention Center on the Suita Campus on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

At the opening of the ceremony, Dean KUMANOGOH Atsushi of the Graduate School of Medicine and President NISHIO Shojiro expressed their appreciation to those who supported the division throughout the years.

Afterwards, Medical Education Division Chief TAWARA Kohji (Higher Education Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)) and Osaka University Hospital Director TAKEHARA Tetsuo delivered congratulatory addresses.

Next, following a report on recent events by Division of Health Sciences Dean KAMIDE Kei, Professor Emeritus ASO Youko, Vice Dean ISHIDA Takayuki, and Professor Emeritus SUGIYAMA Haruo spoke about the progress in the 3 fields of specialization in the division: Integrated Health and Nursing Science, Medical Imaging Technology and Science, and Medical Laboratory Science and Technology, respectively.

Following this, Professor KABAYAMA Mai of the Division of Health Sciences, a member of its first graduating class spoke on the “Blueprint for the Next 30 Years.”

Finally, Osaka University Executive Vice President KANEDA Yasufumi delivered a special lecture entitled “Co-creation with Society to Create an Ideal Future Society.”

Some 200 participants, including OU community members and guests, attended the ceremony to look back on the progress of the division while creating a vision for the future.
