A message from President Nishio to those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake

On behalf of Osaka University, I extend my deep condolences and sympathies to those who have been severely affected by the large earthquake with the epicenter in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture.

I also would like to express my gratitude for those involved in the rescue and recovery efforts in disaster-stricken areas.

Hearing the news of victims who are being forced to live inconvenient lives with worry and anxiety due to frequent aftershocks, I am deeply grieved and saddened.

I sincerely hope for speedy recovery in the affected areas and pray that all the disaster victims are able to return to their peaceful lives as soon as possible.
