OU Celebrates Opening of Newly Renovated Osaka University Nakanoshima Center
Osaka University celebrated the opening of the newly renovated Osaka University Nakanoshima Center building on Sunday, April 30, 2023, with some 170 individuals in attendance.
At the ceremony facilitated by freelance announcer OGAWA Mayu, Osaka University President NISHIO Shojiro spoke about the large-scale renovation of the Nakanoshima Center designed to be a hub for globally connecting and disseminating four domains of knowledge (culture, art, science, and technology). He also expressed his appreciation to attendees and those who provided support and cooperation for the university.

Next, congratulatory speeches were given by INAMORI-KANAZAWA Shinobu (President, Inamori Foundation), TORII Shingo (Representative Director/Vice Chairman of the Board, Suntory Holdings Limited), and KISHIMOTO Tadamitsu (Former President, Osaka University/Chairman, Osaka University Federation of Alumni Association).

After Executive Vice President KANEDA Yasufumi (Director, Nakanoshima Center) outlined renovations at the Center, a ribbon cutting was performed by the president, former president, and guests in a festive mood.
Following the unveiling ceremony, attendees toured the newly-renovated facilities, ending the ceremony on a positive note.
