OU receives an S rating, top marks, in the post-project evaluation of the Program for Promoting the Improvement of Research Universities
On Thursday, March 30, 2023, MEXT announced the results of post-project evaluation for the Program for Promoting the Improvement of Research Universities. Just as in the follow-up evaluations in the 2015-16 academic year and mid-term evaluations in 2017, Osaka University once again received an S rating, the highest possible, in these post-project evaluations.

In this program, OU was highly evaluated in the following points:
- OU carried out fundamental reform of research support system by unifying the functions of the University Research Administrators (URA) Division and the Institutional Research (IR) Division at the Office of Management and Planning
- OU established and used the Institute for Advanced Co-Creation Studies as a platform for developing world-class early career researchers and female researchers through donations from the industrial sector and other organizations
- OU further proceeded with efforts in this program as future plans after the end of this program
- OU clarified key performance indicators (KPI) and specific endeavors based on the OU Master Plan in order to become a world-leading comprehensive research university
Osaka University will strive to become a university to create a society where each member leads a meaningful and fulfilling life based on the OU Master Plan by securing and utilizing people with outstanding specialist capabilities who work as URAs and those who engage in IR.
