Applicants Wanted for the 24th Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities
The Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities, a project by Osaka University Foundation for the Future, were established for the purpose of recognizing outstanding extracurricular activities and to reinvigorate and improve student activities. This year marks the 24th installment of these awards.
Applications for the 24th Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities are now being accepted.
Applicants must submit the necessary documents by the deadline noted below.
1. Purpose
To improve and further intensify extracurricular activities of Osaka University students
2. Commendations
- Commendations will be for outstanding achievement as well as special recognition. (Grand prize is awarded to particularly outstanding groups.)
- Achievements will be recognized by a certificate of merit as well as an extra prize.

3. Selection criteria
To be eligible for a prize, an activity in the period from April 2022 through March 2023 must meet one of the following criteria:
- An outstanding performance, such as a championship victory in a competition outside the university.
- An outstanding performance, such as a championship victory in a competition involving multiple universities.
- An outstanding contribution recognized by society that brings honor to the university.
- A significant contribution to volunteer activities.
- Recognition for having done something equivalent to or exceeding criteria (1) ~ (4) noted above.
4. Eligibility
Groups and individuals belonging to Osaka University and OU alumni who graduated during the 2022-23 academic year
5. Application procedure
Please submit an Extracurricular Activities Report Form as well as documents which objectively verify the achievements written on the form to a Student Center (Suita, Toyonaka, or Minoh).

Documents which objectively verify achievements | Please submit any pamphlets, booklets, and media coverage such as newspaper articles. (Copies (A4-size) will also be accepted.) Please number each document and highlight each relevant section of submitted media coverage in red. |

6. Application deadline
Friday, May 19, 2023 - 17:00
(Any submissions received after this deadline will not be accepted.)
7. Screening
The Student Life Committee will deliberate in determining the winners of the awards.
Applicants will be informed by late July.
Please keep in mind that winners must attend an award ceremony scheduled for July or August.
8. Additional information
This award is supported by Osaka University Foundation for the Future.
Please note that recipients of this award may be asked for activity reports and photos for various university publications.
