OU receives an S rating, top marks, in the post-project evaluation for the JST project “Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment”
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) announced the post-project evaluation of the "Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment (Collaboration Type)" on March 30, 2023, with Osaka University achieving an S rating, the highest rating possible.
Osaka University's efforts with the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (NIBIOHN) and Daikin Industries, Ltd. were highly evaluated for their ambitious approaches to promoting activity of female researchers in natural sciences, recruitment of female researchers and hiring women into senior leadership positions, and the formation of the Kansai region group for developing female researchers through industry-university-government collaboration.
Moving forward, the university will further its efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion and actively work to empower women and develop the next generation of female scientists.
