The proportion of women in both organizations is over 30 percent*. The university will press forward with building a diverse and inclusive campus environment under this new administration.
*A critical mass of women in management, senior leadership and on boards of directors of at least 30 percent is required in a gender-inclusive business culture. This figure was recommended in the United Nations' “Nairobi Forward-looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women" in 1990.

Comment from President Nishio
Thinking that a diverse organization, in which each member is treated with respect and can be active and show their ability, can generate creative ideas to change a society for the better, Osaka University considers that diversity and inclusion form the basis of activity in education, research, and social creation. Under this new administration, we will even more strongly promote such activity.
The university has also appointed an executive vice president of foreign nationality in order to further develop international operation as a world-class research university.
Osaka University will continue to move hand-in-hand with society as a university dedicated to creating a society where each member leads a meaningful and fulfilling life.
