Award ceremony held for female graduate students who made outstanding presentations

With the goal of developing female graduate students, improving their ability to research, and supporting them after their enrollment in doctoral programs, Osaka University holds social gatherings between female graduate students in science courses and companies and research institutes and confers the Excellent Presentation Award to recognize female graduate students who made outstanding research presentations to encourage them to study further and consider a career in research.

On Friday, December 23, 2022, an award ceremony was held at the president’s office, where 4 winners, who were selected at the social gathering held on Tuesday, November 8, 2021, received their award certificates and a list of supplementary prizes.

At the gathering following the ceremony, the recipients talked about the content of their research and their reasons for pursuing their chosen research fields with President Nishio, Professor Ikeda, Executive Director TOYOOKA Hiroki, and Vice President SHIMAOKA Mana in a friendly atmosphere.

The recipients also openly answered a variety of questions from attendees, and President Nishio brought the gathering to a close with his expectations for their future success as researchers and a message of encouragement.
