2022 SHIBA Ryotaro Memorial Academic Lecture Meeting held

The Osaka University SHIBA Ryotaro Memorial Academic Lecture Meeting was held in the Large Lecture Hall on the first floor of the Minoh Campus’s Research and Education Hub on Saturday, December 10.

The SHIBA Ryotaro Memorial Lecture Meeting is held every year and retraces the accomplishments of SHIBA Ryotaro, an author and graduate of the Osaka University of Foreign Studies (now Osaka University).

This 25th year's lecture, entitled "The Potential of Historical and Period Novels," attracted some 100 in-person participants and some 90 virtual participants.

Following a reading from SHIBA Ryotaro’s essay "Nijyuisseiki ni Ikiru Kimitachi e [To You Who Will Live in the 21st Century]” by facilitator OGAWA Mayu (freelance announcer), President NISHIO Shojiro spoke on the lecture’s topic on behalf of the organizers.
