Online gathering for OU alumni, OU Homecoming Day 2022, held

An online alumni gathering, OU Homecoming Day 2022, was held on November 5 and 6.

This event was held as an online version of Homecoming Day, an event where alumni, faculty, and staff members from Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies gather together to deepen their ties as members of the OU Family.

During the event period, videos were available on a special website and were viewed by many individuals from Japan and around the world.

In the video entitled “What’s Been Going on at OU,” President NISHIO Shojiro talked about the university’s Master Plan 2027, education and research, student activities, and collaboration with the Osaka University Federation of Alumni Association.
OU Federation of Alumni Association Chairman KISHIMOTO Tadamitsu also delivered a message to the OU Family.

In the program of “Meeting for Alumni and OU Board Members and Faculty Members,” on the topic of “Creating a Society that Fosters a Purpose of Life,” the goal of Osaka University, alumni talked about their purposes in life and their hopes for OU. After the meeting, they gave their feedback (about the meeting) and messages.

In the program of “Campus Tours – Memorable Places,” current OU students reported on the current state of the places of fond memories at OU for former students. The program also introduced memories of OU alumni, which had been collected in advance, and materials portraying how campus life was back then.

In addition to these programs, OU created online content for the Homecoming Day 2022, such as videos of official student group activities, messages to alumni from alumni associations at OU schools/graduate schools, mini lectures by faculty members, and the introduction to the Machikane Festival, which was held during the same period.
