Preparation in Advance of Approaching Typhoon #14 (Friday, September 16)
Storm warnings (boufuu-keihou) or other emergency warnings (tokubetsu-keihou) may be issued for Osaka Prefecture on Monday, September 19 in advance of the approaching Typhoon #14.
We ask that you prepare for any potential severe weather and that you stay up to date with information regarding the approaching typhoon via TV and/or the internet. (Click here to view the website for the Japan Meterological Agency for typhoon information.)

To faculty, staff, and students
Pay attention to information regarding Typhoon #14 and prepare for it. If any damage occurs, please make a declaration in accordance with correspondence from the university.
Preventing damage/injuries from things which can fall from balconies, etc.
- Remove flower pots, tools, and other items from balconies.
- Make sure doors and windows are latched.
Preventing water damage
- Shut doors and windows to prevent wind and rain from entering inside the room/building.
Outdoor safety management
- In the case of outdoor research or extracurricular activities -- in the mountains, at the river or sea, keep up with the latest weather information and make a safe action plan.
Make sure drains and ditches are clean
- If a drain or ditch is blocked with things such as dead leaves, poor drainage may cause flooding. Please check to make sure drains and ditches are clean.
- Prepare for severe weather events using maintenance and management manuals.
