Conferment Ceremony held for Medal of Honor with Dark Blue Ribbon
Mr. KOH Yasuharu, Mr. EGAWA Takanobu, and Mr. TAMURA Akihisa received Medals of Honor with Dark Blue Ribbons* for their generous financial contributions to Osaka University for its advancement.
The conferment ceremony for these recipients was held at Osaka University on June 22, 2022. From the university, President NISHIO Shojiro, Executive Vice President KANEDA Yasufumi, Executive Vice President TANAKA Toshihiro, Dean KUMANOGOH Atsushi of the Graduate School of Medicine, and Dean TAKEMURA Keiko of the School of Foreign Studies attended.
President Nishio handed the medals to the three recipients, expressing his gratitude to them for their contributions.
Their donations were spent for funds, including “The New Minoh Campus Improvement Project,” “The Education and Research Project for the Faculty of Medicine/Graduate School of Medicine,” and “COVID-19 Response Fund (Student Support),” as well as for the construction of the Osaka University of Foreign Studies Memorial Hall and student support.
After the ceremony, a social gathering was held in a pleasant atmosphere from start to finish. President Nishio showed his appreciation directly to the recipients, while recipients expressed their opinions on and expectations of the university.

*Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon
The Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon is awarded to individuals who have made exceptionally generous financial contributions for the good of the public. It is conferred when the occasion arises, after the Decoration Bureau of the Cabinet Office has screened the candidates recommended by relevant ministries.
