Assistant Professor MITARAI Kosuke selected to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia Class of 2022 (Enterprise Technology)

Assistant Professor MITARAI Kosuke (Graduate School of Engineering Science/Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology) was selected to Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia Class of 2022 in the Enterprise Technology division. Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia is a set of lists published by Forbes magazine that recognizes 30 promising figures under the age of 30 from the Asia-Pacific region in a variety of fields. Annually, Forbes selects 30 individuals from each of the 10 different categories, including arts, sports, media, finance, business, and science, among others, from more than 4,000 entries. Dr. Mitarai was selected for constructing the “world's first quantum machine learning algorithm for noisy intermediate-scale quantum computers to help reduce processing errors” 1 and for cofounding QunaSys, a quantum computing software startup.

Comment from Assistant Professor Mitarai

I’m so honored to receive this award. It’s all thanks to those who supported me. If it were not for Professor FUJII Keisuke, Professor KITAGAWA Masahiro, Associate Professor NEGORO Makoto, QunaSys CEO YAN Tennin, and all the members at QunaSys, I would have never received this kind of recognition. Taking this opportunity, I’d like to thank those involved in our joint research project as well as the investors. I will further promote research and development for practical application of quantum computers.
