President Statement concerning the Crisis in Ukraine

We are deeply concerned with the protracted conflict in Ukraine and hope for a swift and peaceful resolution.

Osaka University is home to the largest number of Ukrainian students among all national universities in Japan. Our department of Russian language and culture has more than 100 years of history, which originated from the former Osaka University of Foreign Studies. We are thus deeply worried about the negative impact on those affected by the current conflict.

Osaka University is committed to protect the well-being and the educational and research environment of its members as well as their families under all circumstances.
