This D&I Space, which was created in the Convention Center on the Suita Campus as a place for communicating across cultures in order to further promote diversity and inclusion, consists of a communication area, an information corner, and a D&I promotion office.

This was created with help from Kokuyo Co., Ltd. and Kokuyo Marketing Co., Ltd., both of which shared the university’s drive to promote D&I, from the stage of defining the concept of the space to designing its layout, logo, and flag.

The Osaka University Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Declaration was developed from the university’s Declaration of Gender Equality at Osaka University (2016) and Osaka University Basic Policy Regarding Diversity in Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) (2017).

This declaration focuses on raising awareness of OU community members, changing the way they work and study, making multilateral efforts for inclusion and respect for diversity, and equally supporting members to advance gender equality.

The university is committed to taking further actions toward creating environments in which individual differences are respected and making diversity and inclusion a reality.
