Talk with the President #5 held

A Talk with the President, an opportunity to discuss key issues with students, was held in the President's Office on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

These talks, hosted by the Student Life Committee, were held twice during the 2019-20 academic year but were not held last academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, these talks have been held in small groups with measures in place to prevent COVID-19 infections.

Seven master's and doctoral students in humanities, social sciences, and law delivered presentations on the topics noted below, having lively discussions with President Nishio on the subject of “The Future of Osaka University.”

  • Universities' approach to lifetime learning in an era of 100-year lives
  • Is “Live Locally” in OU’s motto realized? – Current state and future prospects of the university
  • The future of law students, international students, and Osaka University
  • What graduate school means to me as a business owner
  • Talk with the president about the present and future of Osaka University
  • Early graduation system which provides incentives for liberal arts students to enroll in graduate school
  • Generational succession and understanding before and after COVID-19

Nine talk sessions are scheduled for this academic year: one or two sessions will be held each month by student category: undergraduate and graduate (master’s/doctoral)
