Regarding the 'red alert' stage issued by Osaka Prefecture (2)

On December 3, 2020, Osaka Prefecture issued requests based on stage 1 of the "red alert" (state of emergency) outlined in the "Osaka Model," the prefecture's criteria for handling COVID-19 infections.

In response to this request, Osaka University once again asks that its members take measures for preventing the spread of infection and will conduct assessments regarding potential infection risks for various activities.

Osaka University will maintain its current response levels from December 4 with the assumption that OU members are thorough in carrying out these preventive measures.

Osaka University requests the following:

Refrain from non-urgent outings as much as possible.

• Regardless of whether you are on campus or off, take preventive measures such as wearing a face mask, maintaining proper social distancing, washing your hands, avoiding closed spaces, crowds, and close contact, and refraining from eating out in groups.

• If you are not feeling well, do not attend school, and if you do have any symptoms, contact your family doctor or a counseling center to request counseling and/or an examination.

• Consider delaying events or holding them online whenever possible.

• Implement flexible working hours and telecommuting (or "telework") to reduce contact with others as much as possible.

• Extracurricular activity should be held with thorough enforcement of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
