Notice of the lifting of the campus closure order in response to the bomb threat against Osaka University and other institutions

Osaka University received an email containing a bomb threat targeting multiple institutions, including OU, for Tuesday, August 25 at 4:33 pm, and in addition to tightening security via thorough investigations of suspicious objects and staying on the lookout for suspicious individuals with the cooperation of the police department, the university restricted access to its campuses on Tuesday, August 25.

As no explosions were detected at the time the bomb was scheduled to go off and no suspicious activity has been discovered or reported on the university campuses, we would like to lift the campus closure order to allow all members of Osaka University to return to university grounds on August 25 at 17:45.

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation in regards to the bomb threat.
