Bomb threat targeting Osaka University

We received an email containing a bomb threat targeting multiple institutions, including Osaka University, for Tuesday, August 25 at 4:33 pm.

In addition to tightening security via thorough investigations of suspicious objects and staying on the lookout for suspicious individuals with the cooperation of the police department, Osaka University will also be restricting access to its campuses on Tuesday, August 25. The university asks for your cooperation and understanding regarding this decision. Students, faculty, and staff members should check KOAN and internal notices for more information. We ask that those from outside of the university refrain from coming to the university at this time.

Osaka University Hospital and Osaka University Dental Hospital will operate under normal business hours with the utmost safety measures in place.

Entrance examinations and other events scheduled to be held on Tuesday, August 25 may be rescheduled. Please check the webpage of the school/graduate school or contact the department in charge of the event in question.

The university will continue to be vigilant and will work together with the police to take appropriate action regarding this situation.
