The Osaka University Future Funds has launched the “Yume [Dream] Fund to Fight COVID-19”

Osaka University would like to express its deepest sympathies for those whose lives have been impacted and those who are suffering life-threatening symptoms due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

At OU, faculty and staff members are working together to carry out their duties in the fields of education, research, and medicine during this critical situation. The university has made efforts to support students by granting tuition fee waivers and conducting online classes, but that is not enough to navigate this difficult situation, so the university needs your help.

Thus, the Osaka University Future Funds has launched the “Yume [Dream] Fund to Fight COVID-19.”

Osaka University will support students using donations received through this campaign for the following purposes:

  • Providing financial aid, including tuition fee exemption and deferment
  • Helping students with limited Internet participate in distance learning
  • Providing wi-fi router rentals free of charge
  • Providing students with mental health services for stress and anxiety

In addition to support for students, the university will upgrade and expand treatment at Osaka University Hospital as well as research and development of COVID-19 drugs and vaccines at related departments.

While the university has already made efforts, it needs your financial support to swiftly implement appropriate and sufficient measures as a university. We are asking for donations to this fundraising campaign so that OU community members can overcome current difficulties together with alumni and OU supporters.

Anyone can help support our Yume Fund. Support from alumni and OU supporters is key for us to fight COVID-19. We hope that you will consider helping to support our efforts.
