Notice regarding the new strain of coronavirus [eighth notice]


On 25 February, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs set the alert level for infectious diseases in Daegu city, and Cheongdo County, North Gyeongsang Province, Korea, at “Level 2: avoid non-essential travel” due to the rapid increase of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. The current travel advisory issued regarding COVID-19 is as follows:

Level 3: Avoid all travel

・Hubei Province, and Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China

Level 2: Avoid Non-essential travel

・All other regions of China

Daegu city, and Cheongdo County, North Gyeongsang Province, Korea

Based on the above information, the fourth notice issued by Osaka University on 31 January is considered invalid, and our continuing response will be based on this newly released information.

If travel to these regions becomes unavoidable, please first obtain information regarding your destination and take precautionary measures against infection.

Additionally, the university’s response will change according to daily updates on the new strain of coronavirus. Further instructions from the university will be posted on our website, KOAN, etc., so we would like to ask everyone to periodically check these sites.
