Osaka University Foundation for the Future "OU Healthy Gut Project Kickoff Ceremony" held

As an expansion of the Free Breakfast Project held by the Osaka University Foundation for the Future in 2015 and 2016, Osaka University kicked off the “OU Healthy Gut Project” as a health care project rooted in industry-university co-creation.

On Wednesday, October 16, the “OU Healthy Gut Project Kickoff Ceremony” was held, attended by individuals from each of the cooperating corporations, including INOUE Yukari (Managing Director for Japan and Korea, Kellogg Company), KURIKI Takashi (Managing Executive Officer, Ezaki Glico Co Ltd.), and HAKII Takashi (Director, Business Innovation Center (BIC) Japan, Konica Minolta, Inc.).

At the ceremony, President NISHIO Shojiro greeted attendees as representative of Osaka University, saying, “There aren’t many opportunities for young OU students to think about relatable topics regarding their health. This ambitious student-led project aims to solve health issues by using the knowledge of Osaka University and cooperating corporations to promote re-forming of students' consciousness of their intestinal environment to improve their actions.”

During the two week period from Wednesday, October 16 until Thursday, October 31, the OU Healthy Gut Project will serve some 150 OU Free Breakfast Sets every morning at the Restaurant in the Library on the Toyonaka Campus.
