Completion ceremony held for 2F Student Lounge in the A Wing of the Center for Education in Liberal Arts and Sciences (CELAS)
On Monday, September 30, 2019, the completion ceremony for the
Student Lounge
on the 2nd floor of the A Wing of the Center for Education in Liberal Arts and Sciences (CELAS) was held.
As part of the Osaka University 90th Anniversary & Osaka University of Foreign Studies 100th Anniversary Celebration, an artistic student lounge
was
completed on the second floor of the CELAS A Wing through donations from the Fujimoto Yume Group.
The student lounge
that incorporated the concepts of “jungle” and “princess” will stimulate students’ creativity and nurture new relationships between students, faculty members, and researchers, facilitating the development of
their co-creative activity.
This project was realized through cooperation from the Fujimoto Yume Group, which is engaged in a range of activity in welfare, medicine, and education utilizing art.
Global efforts to change the world through the power of art
have already begun. Various forms of art have been introduced to workplaces in the global IT companies for the purpose of inspiring employees
’
creative thinking and hospitals for improving patients’ conditions.
Art has a power to develop our cultural literacy and enrich our lives. Research shows effects of art on inidividuals -- like developing creativity and improving medical conditions. Thus, OU thought that art should be introduced on campus.
This project is co-creation enabled through the fusion of the Fujimoto Yume Group’s production capability and Osaka University’s ideas.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project with many, including FUJIMOTO Kayoko (CEO of the Fujimoto Yume Group), related individuals
, Osaka University President NISHIO Shojiro, trustees, director of CELAS, as well as other OU
community members, in attendance.
