Professor NAGASAWA Takashi (Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences) wins Japan Academy Prize

On Tuesday, March 12, the Japan Academy announced the 2019 recipients of the Japan Academy Prize. The Japan Academy [Nippon Gakushi-in] Prize, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, accords special recognition to researchers with eminent records of academic and scientific achievement.

From Osaka University, Professor NAGASAWA Takashi (Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences) was awarded the prize .

Specialized fields: immunology, hematology, stem cell biology

Achievements: The elucidation of the role of the bone marrow microenvironment that maintains hematopoietic stem cells, hematogenesis, and bones

The awards will be presented at a ceremony at The Japan Academy in Ueno, Tokyo, in June.
