Graduation Party for International Students 2019

On Monday, March 18, a party was held to celebrate the completion of studies for international students at the Senri Hankyu Hotel. Every year, President NISHIO Shojiro invites those international students who are expected to graduate from their course of study in March 2019 to attend a celebratory social gathering.

There were 145 international students and family members in attendance at the party, making for a total of some 230 attendees, including consular staff in the Kansai region, host families, volunteers, and OU faculty and staff.

At the party, President Nishio greeting attendees, while Consul General Li Tianran of the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Osaka gave a congratulatory speech on behalf of the guests in attendance. Following this, 3 international students gave speeches in Japanese on the theme "My Study Abroad Experience at OU." In these speeches, the students gave thanks to the host families, faculty and staff members, and the students around them for their overwhelming support, which made their time studying abroad at OU a valuable experience.

During the get-together, international students, faculty and staff members, and other guests enjoyed friendly conversation and taking commemorative photos with President Nishio, making it an enjoyable event from start to finish.
