“Materials Science Domestic Training 1” in Osaka University’s Program for Leading Graduate Schools received an award of excellence for best university internship programs.
“Materials Science Domestic Training 1” aims to help students acquire communication and critical thinking skills by letting them act as a member of a corporation or research institute in Japan away from their university laboratories for three months.
This program is provided as a compulsory course to students in the “Interactive Materials Science Cadet Program” of the Program for Leading Graduate Schools.
The award was presented at the Internship Forum held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on Monday, December 10, 2018.

What are the Awards for Best University Internship Programs ?
The Internship Program Notification System established in the 2017-2018 academic year. In this system, MEXT selects good internship programs from internship programs reported by universities and grants awards as good programs that exert a positive educational effect on students and can serve as a model for good practice in internships for other universities and companies in order to disseminate their achievements.
