Award Ceremony held for the 2018-19 Osaka University Prize


On Monday, November 19, the Award Ceremony for the Osaka University Prize was held at the Convention Center on Osaka University's Suita Campus. The Osaka University Prize is awarded to faculty and staff members at Osaka University for their outstanding contributions to university management, education, and research.

President Nishio presented recipients of the prize with commemorative plaques, and later, delivered a message of encouragement to the recipients, praising them for their achievements and emphasizing the role that Osaka University must undertake as a Designated National University. This designation means that Osaka University must now keep up with leading universities from all over the world, requiring OU faculty and staff to be devoted to their work and fulfil their public mandate. To this end, President Nishio expressed his hopes for further success from the recipients in their future endeavors.
