Research Center of Subatomic Sciences in the Research Center for Nuclear Physics selected for MEXT's International Joint Usage/Research Center Project

Osaka University's Research Center for Nuclear Physics was selected to the 2018-2019 International Joint Usage/Research Center Project in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

(41 centers from 20 universities applied to this program, with 6 center from 4 universities accepted.)

By acknowledging research facilities with world-class research resources and outstanding systems for international cooperation as International Joint Usage/Research Centers, this project aims to strengthen the ability of these research facilities to lead international collaborative research both inside and outside of Japan while improving their research capabilities.

In order to continue to produce world-class scientific findings, the Research Center of Subatomic Sciences in the Research Center for Nuclear Physics will understand academic trends around the world and facilitate the internationalization of its management practice. Furthermore, by establishing a branch office in TRIUMF, Canada's particle accelerator centre, through collaboration with research institutes overseas, the Research Center of Subatomic Sciences will develop cutting-edge facilities, carry out large scale projects, promote fusion of different fields, and develop industry-university co-creation overseas.
