Some 300 individuals attend the Osaka University Alumni Reunion in Nagoya
On Saturday, September 23, the Osaka University Alumni Reunion in Nagoya was held, with some 300 guests in attendance from the Chubu and Kanto areas, including a number of Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies alumni.
This was the second alumni reunion held outside of the Osaka and Tokyo areas following the alumni reunion held in Okayama last year. This reunion saw a large turnout from regional alumni chapters, corporate alumni associations of Toyota Motor Corporation and Denso Corporation, as well as the Fukui Prefecture Alumni Association. Attendees were able to connect with one another regardless of age or background.
During the ceremony/lecture, President NISHIO Shojiro spoke about current events at Osaka University. Following this, MORIKI Rumiko (Managing Director, Moriki Brewery; 1983 graduate, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences) gave a lecture on the history of sake and sake brewing that really showed her passion for her work.
The social gathering following the event began with a toast by YAMAMOTO Naoki (Senior Vice President, NTT West; 1987 graduate, School of Economics), and the raffle that followed, which has become something of a tradition, brought a ton of energy and excitement. To wrap things up, Fukui Prefecture Alumni Association Chair MAEDA Yukitoshi (1968 graduate, School of Engineering Science) gave a passionate message about the Osaka University Alumni Reunion in Fukui, set to be held next year.
