Dr. Klaus von Klitzing (1985 Nobel Laureate in Physics) receives honorary degree from Osaka University

Dr. Klaus von Klitzing of the Max Planck Society (Germany) has made remarkable contributions to the development of scholarly culture at Osaka University, such as serving for many years as a committee member for the international symposium hosted by the 151st Committee on Electronic Properties Under Extreme Conditions (JSPS). The 151st Committee on Electronic Properties Under Extreme Conditions was founded by then-Osaka University Associate Professor NAMBA Susumu in 1986, among others.

In honor of these achievements, Dr. von Klitzing was presented with an honorary degree from Osaka University on Tuesday, March 7.

Honorary degrees at Osaka University are conferred to those individuals from outside of Japan who, through international cultural exchange, have made notable contributions to education and research at Osaka University. Dr. von Klitzing is the 6th recipient of this degree.
