Osaka University chosen for the 2016-2017 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) "Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment (Collaboration Type)"

Osaka University was chosen for the 2016-2017 Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) "Initiative for the Implementation of the Diversity Research Environment (Collaboration Type)."

In order to increase diversity in research environments that will lead to the creation of outstanding research results, this initiative will require institutes to establish and publish goals and action plans geared toward the promotion of the activity of female researchers based on the special attributes of each institution and region, as well as support endeavors to establish research environments that are considerate of the life events and work/life balance of female researchers, to improve the research ability of female researchers, and to promote the active hiring of women, both as researchers and high-ranking officials.

Osaka University is in collaborations with the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health, and Nutrition and Daikin Industries, Ltd. , and will powerfully lead the way to the promotion of female researchers not only within these three institutes, but in other institutes in various regions and fields as well.
