Osaka University Leaders Forum held

On Tuesday, February 16, the Osaka University Leaders Forum was held at Osaka University Hall on the Toyonaka Campus, with some 120 individuals in attendance.

This forum is held each year in order for graduates of Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies currently active on the front lines of their respective fields, as well as current faculty and students of Osaka University, to strengthen relationships with one another.

The 4th Annual Leaders Forum began with President NISHIO Shojiro outlining the Osaka University Vision 2021, as well as recent events at the university. Afterwards, Executive Vice President YOSHIKAWA Hideki (Industry-University Collaboration and Hospital Management) gave a speech on "Learning Risk Management from Medical Accidents." Executive Vice President Yoshikawa spoke about frameworks in which accidents and failures occur and the role of leaders in these situations through a wide variety of case examples.

A toast by INAGAKI Takashi (Lawyer; 1954 Graduate of the School of Law) kicked off the social event, in which attendees deepened friendships beyond generations. Presentations by two teams of current students involved in environmental conservation activities and startup businesses received a lively round of applause. The warm atmosphere of the gathering was filled with a kind of energy that only Osaka University graduates could provide.

Osaka University plans to hold various events to promote exchange between graduates in the future as well. We hope to see you there.
