22nd Osaka University Future Talk held

On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, the 22nd Osaka University Future Talk was held in the Multimedia Hall of the Center of Medical Innovation and Translational Research (CoMIT).

At this Future Talk, Professor YAGI Masakazu of CoMIT spoke to attendees on the topic of "Introduction to Med/Healthcare Tech Innovation," where he spoke about what truly is innovation, as well as hints for the continuous realization of innovation in the fields of healthcare and medical devices.

Professor Yagi is among the first class of graduates of Global Faculty in Training in the Stanford Biodesign Program, which cultivates human resources on the front lines of medical technology development, and using this experience, as well as that of the recent started Japan Biodesign Program in which Professor Yagi plays a major role, he spoke with attendees about the importance of brainstorming, prototyping, and the idea methodology that is key to innovation based on the methods of the Biodesign Program.

This Future Talk turned out to be a full house, with not only students from medical fields, but individuals the general public and high school students also in attendance.

The fast-paced and humorous talk by Professor Yagi provided for a lively environment at this Future Talk, with the Q&A session continuing even after the lecture had ended.
