The cover of this issue features a photo of a lively Toyonaka Campus
Promenade during the Icho Festival, which took place on May 1st and 2nd
of this year.
Other contents of the magazine include:
A cover story featuring Osaka University's world class immunology
research. Osaka University Distinguished Professors SAKAGUCHI Shimon
and AKIRA Shizuo, both winners of the Gairdner International Award, had a
chat with President HIRANO on Immunology at Osaka University. In
addition, there is an introduction about international research on the
mystery of sight, as well as the endeavors of the recipients of the
Presidential Awards for Achievement and Encouragement.
In the Alumni section, there are articles on TAKETSURU Hisao
(Chairman of the board, Taketsuru Shuzo Sake Brewery) and TAKETSURU
Toshio (President, Taketsuru Shuzo Sake Brewery), as well as NAMURA
Hiroko, graduate of Osaka University's School of Law, and admitted to
the bar in both Japan and New York State, allowing her to thrive on an
international stage.
In reports on business visits, there are articles on the School of
Foreign Studies visit to Nissin Foods, in which students attempted to
make their own ramen at the Instant Ramen Museum. In "Students Excelling," you can find articles about the Science Intercollegiate,
winners of the JSPS Ikushi Prize, Tobitate! Study Abroad students from
the second round of the program, as well as the Presentation on Research
Results for the Extracurricular Research Encouragement Project. In
