Student Research Award Ceremony held

Presentation on Research Results of the Extracurricular Research Encouragement Project

On Friday, May 1, the 2014-15 Presentation on Research Results of the Extracurricular Research Encouragement Project was held at Osaka University Hall on the Toyonaka campus. The Extracurricular Research Encouragement Project was established in 2000 for the purpose of encouraging student-led research. Original and ambitious research projects are selected every year.
Following a greeting from President HIRANO, students from 11 research groups selected for the Extracurricular Research Encouragement Project made presentations on their research results for the last year. The presentation was held during the Icho Festival, so some 150 people, including individuals from outside the university, were able to participate in the event. Many questions and comments from the audience made for a vibrant and productive atmosphere.
Executive Vice Presidents, Deans, and faculty members of the Extracurricular Research Encouragement Project Selection Committee examined the presentations and commended the highly-rated top three groups.
