Two projects announced as winners of Award for Persons of Merit in Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration

Two projects have been selected as winners of the 12th Conference for the Promotion Industry-Academia-Government Research Collaboration (2014) sponsored by the Cabinet Office. This award recognizes successful achievements and people in university-industry-government collaboration. Projects and persons recommended by related government offices are evaluated on their achievements in terms of technology, marketing, social contribution, and collaboration. This year, 14 cases were selected as worthy of these awards; two of which involve faculty at Osaka University. Specifics on the awards and winners can be found below:

Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Prize -- "Joint Research Course" -- the new university-industry collaboration system starting from Osaka University
Osaka University started the Joint Research Course & Joint Research Division in 2006. OU is the first national university to initiate this system and it has some 30 courses and divisions.

Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize -- The commercialization of strong synthetic bone grafts
