Tobitate! [Fly away!] Study Abroad Program
With financial support from some companies, MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) started a new public and private Study Abroad Support System on Monday, March 10, 2014. Applications are now being accepted.
Please take advantage of this system to study abroad!
Who is Eligible?
- Undergraduate and graduate students in regular courses at Osaka University
Quota : 300 (nationwide)
- Enrollment abroad must take place between August 21, 2014 and March 31, 2015. Students will study overseas between 28 days and a year. (A duration of three months or longer is recommended.)
Financial support
This program is not intended for those who only want to enroll in a language course or an exchange program. Candidates should plan to also participate in activities such as internships, volunteering, and/or field work.
This program has the following advantages.
- All financial aid is grant so recipients won't need to repay it.
- This program offers more generous support than conventional financial aid programs.
- Financial aid can be used for entrance fees, tuition fees, expenses for internships, volunteering, field work, housing, traveling, and food.
Amount of support
- Monthly amounts of ¥120,000 ~ ¥200,000 (varies by area)
- Allowance for prior and follow-up workshops, for travel expense (¥120,000 ~ ¥200,000) (varies by area)
- Tuition fees -- up to ¥300,000
