Professor Toshio YANAGIDA designated as "Person of Cultural Merit"

Specially Appointed Professor Toshio YANAGIDA (Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences; Director, Center for Information and Neural Networks, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Osaka University) was designated as one of this year's Person of Cultural Merit awardees.

Professor Yanagida developed a single molecular measurement technology and clarified muscular contraction mechanism in biophysics. This award is being given for his excellent results in research in biological principles and his great contributions to the development of this field.

The Award Ceremony will be held on November 5 in Tokyo.
