Administrative Council visits Tekijuku

On Tuesday, September 10, Osaka University's Administrative Council visited Tekijuku in Kitahama, Osaka. Tekijuku, founded in 1838, is designated as a historical landmark and important cultural asset. President Toshio HIRANO talked about the history of Osaka University, starting from Tekikuku's foundation to today's Osaka University. This year, Tekijuku celebrates the 175th anniversary of its founding. Following the President's talk, MURATA Michihito, a professor at the Graduate School of Letters and at Tekijuku Commemoration Center, talked about OGATA Koan's achievements and archived documents associated with the education that took place at Tekijuku.
