Joint team JoiTech from Osaka University and Osaka Institute of Technology wins 1st prize in RoboCup 2013 in the Netherlands

The RoboCup 2013 , held in Eindhoven, Netherlands, finished on June 30 with the joint team JoiTech from Osaka University and Osaka Institute of Technology winning 1st place in the " Humanoid League Adult Size " category. The JoiTech team, under the direction of Professor Minoru ASADA of OU's Graduate School of Engineering, won not only 1st place in its league competition, but it also was awarded the Louis Vuitton Best Humanoid Prize .

On Wednesday, August 7, Professor Asada and students paid a visit on President Toshio HIRANO to inform him of their victory. President Hirano praised them, saying, "Please make it your goal to bring home the victory again next year!" During the coming year, the Louis Vuitton trophy (made of Baccarat crystal) is on display in President Hirano's office.
