Lecture on Human Rights Issues held

Timed to coincide with Human Rights Week in December, a lecture on human rights was held on Friday, December 7 at the Student Commons on the Toyonaka campus. Lectures on human rights have become an annual OU event aimed at raising awareness of human rights issues.

This year, Assistant Professor Takashi MATSUBARA spoke on the theme of "Supporting Students with Challenges." In addition to a general overview of issues faced by students with challenges and current social trends, Mr. Matsubara also touched on specific examples of ways in which listeners might assist such students.

Attendance at the lecture was good with over 70 students, OU faculty, and staff in attendance, paying close attention to what he had to say.
